“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2). Our mental well-being is just as important as our physical well-being. However, there are many people currently struggling with mental health issues in and outside of the body of Christ. And many suffer in silence for various reasons, including being fearful. Romans 12:9 states, “Let love be without hypocrisy”. As a licensed social worker and therapist, I believe that help offered in love and without judgment may begin to aid in the improvement of a person’s mental well-being. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”—Philippians 4:6, 7.
